As you can see, the numbers 1-6 points out the domain name of the page, pagerank, incoming links from Google, incoming links from Bing, Alexa’s ranking, and the number of social shares on Facebook, Twitter and Google+ related to the site.

How to Generate Traffic and Backlinks from Blog Commenting
As we all know, building
backlinks to our blog is very important to our SEO campaign. No doubt, having
quality links pointing to our site would help boost our search engine rankings
but a lot of people don’t know how to build these links. In the post, we shall
focus on how to generate traffic and backlinks from blog commenting.
Simply put, blog commenting is
the act of placing comments on other peoples blog. When you leave a comment and
the moderator of the blog approves them, you could stand the chance to gain
some free traffic, backlinks or both.
Although, most moderators
usually add nofollow tags to the comments to avoid spam, it is still of wise
practice to comment on these blogs as you could grow more audience by driving
traffic from your comment to your blog.
Before we get into the groove,
I would like to suggest you install SEOquake
on your browser. Why SEOquake?
This wonderful Firefox plug-in makes it easy for you to find sites with high
listings and pagerank. It also works on Chrome. See an example below;
As you can see, the numbers 1-6 points out the domain name of the page, pagerank, incoming links from Google, incoming links from Bing, Alexa’s ranking, and the number of social shares on Facebook, Twitter and Google+ related to the site.
Now, here’s more to what this plug-in does. I entered the search query “how to use Facebook fanpages for traffic” and the following list of websites came up for my search term;
From the screenshot above, this
wonderful plug-in has listed the pagerank, alexa’s ranking and other relevant details
of the sites on the top listing. Now all I’d have to do is click on any link of
my choice, read the post and hopefully drop a comment. But this is where many
fail. With these tips, you’re sure to get your comments approved.
Firstly, when you visit any
blog you found on the top listing, never leave comments like
- Thanks for this post
- Oh! Wonderful
- Great tips and so on.
Many moderators will act fast
and may remove your link juice from these comments. Rather than do that, try to
comment based on the subject, contribute something new or ask some questions if
you’re not clear about the topic. Chances are that the moderator and other
visitor may be tempted to check on your link to see what they could gain,
contribute or suggest when they visit your site. See the screenshots below for
some of my comments that got approval with the link juice intact;

Can you see how I have constructed
some very meaningful tips and got them all published? That’s how simple it is. I
also got some good hits from these sites especially KnowEmpowerNetwork which still brings
me about 10-20 hits per day.
Remember, do not spam and avoid placing invaluable
short comments. Be a smart commenter on blogs. With time, you will grow a large audience from visitors of the blogs
you visit and comment regularly on and this would help boost your blog's recognition also.
Another way to driving traffic
from blog commenting is by pinging your approved comments. Many search queries usually
bring up comments or answers when people search for related terms. Comments also
rank faster when you use keywords in the name field but many of such get
disapproval for being too promotional. Either way, before leaving a comment,
try to go through previously published ones to see if anyone made use of a
keyword term and had the comment published. If you don't find such, just stick to providing your name and url.
To your success.

Hi Ivan
Great post! I hate it when someone leaves a comment that is not about the subject then leaves a link those are the worst.
I have a lot of business that write a comments like on my Air-conditioning and heat post. They leave a nice informative comment and there business website. I don't mind that at all!

As always, great advice to keep in mind. Whenever I go to a website, and I know I want to comment, I think about how good a comment I would want to receive. Constructive and insightful, yet not just a quickie. The best comments typically are ones that pose new questions, or directly answer questions in the blog itself. Every time I comment, I think about that, and wonder what I would want to see on my blog.
Not only is there backlinks, but you never know who else might see your comment, and wonder about what is on your site and follow your link to your site. There is also the idea that you might develop a comradere with the blogger you are commenting on, and might get comments back on your own site.

@Tamron: Sure! People spam a lot and it's not good for the blogging world. Your contribution to the topic in question matters a lot so placing unrelated comments may not be a welcome idea.
@Dan: Clearly pointed out. Leaving valuable comments can help increase ones traffic. Just as you stated, visitors who see your comments may even find them very useful and would of course be tempted to hit the link to your site. This would help increase traffic and/or backlinks if the comments are dofollow.

Most of the not-on-topic comments are easily detected by anti-spam plugins or services (for example, Akismet).
I am actually on the other side of the "business" - I do want to get more comments :)
I see in one of the snapshots that you left the comment on someone's blog who has CommentLuv installed.
I think it could be a good bait for commenters.
Maybe I should give it a try.

Tank you for the suggestion Augis. I suppose that's a WordPress plugin. As for comment luv, it's on a lot of blogs out there and it works both for Blogger and WordPress. The plugin helps control spamming and it's user friendly. I'd soon make use of it when I'm done with some tweaking. :)
